The first part is dedicated to modern Rome, the second part to ancient Rome. Book format 16°, 16x9 cm. 270 and 239 numbered p., in French. Title pages printed in red and black, with an emblem of the publishing house. 2 introductory allegorical illustrations, 22 mostly foldable illustrations, and 6 maps (copper engravings), headers, vignettes, decorative lines, and initials (woodcuts). Hard leather binding, spine with 5 raised bands, gold embossed décor and red label with gold letters, marbled edge. Issued in Amsterdam in 1706: Zacharie Chastelain le Fils. Scratched binding, slightly cracked in edges, tiny perforation in spine. Book block in good condition, slightly worn sheets, browned, spotty, some illustrations partially torn.
