Regola delli cinque ordini d`architettura is a work by the Renaissance architect Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola, widely spread across Europe until the 19th century and one of the most successful texts on architecture. In this treatise, he developed the theory of classical architecture, focusing on the classical column orders. He defined the form of the Tuscan order, which was previously only known from Vitruvius` description. These theories were further developed by Andrea Palladio and influenced not only Renaissance but also Baroque and Neoclassical architecture in the following centuries. The text is in the form of a textbook and was used in architectural schools until the 18th century. The author established a fundamental rule in this work - the module for all column orders, derived from the height and radius of each column. Condition restored.
